I want therapy to be a gentle, radically nonjudgmental space where you can reconnect with your own internal wisdom and with the relationships that truly matter -- with yourself, with others, and with the world around you.

ABOUT:

Mia Henderson is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate and Nationally Certified Counselor. They work with individuals (ages 13+), couples, and polycules around depression, anxiety, complex trauma, panic, life transitions, self-discovery, relationship conflict, non-monogamy, identity development, spirituality, existential crises, and the emotional impact of systemic oppression and climate grief. Their work is grounded in anti-oppressive, culturally sensitive, and ecospiritual values.

Mia integrates Relational-Cultural Theory, Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and DBT approaches into a counseling style that is warm and collaborative. They tailor the work to each client's unique values, cultural background, strengths, and identities, and actively invite feedback to keep the space safe, flexible, and empowering. Mia is especially passionate about supporting Queer and gender-diverse clients, and those seeking meaning, purpose, and healing from complex trauma. Mia is known for their welcoming, easy-going, and radically non-judgemental nature.

BACKGROUND:

Mia received their Masters of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Seattle University (2026) and also holds a Bachelors in Geography/Environmental Studies from Western Washington University (2020). Before entering the mental health field, Mia served with AmeriCorps/Washington Conservation Corps, volunteered as a Crisis Counselor with Crisis Text Line, and worked on a small organic produce farm helping to feed hundreds of local community members. Mia is Queer, nonbinary/agender, of mixed European and Japanese ancestry, and identifies as a devoted Animist and folk herbalist — perspectives that inform their holistic view of healing. Outside of sessions, you'll find them hiking, camping, foraging, crafting, playing folk music, or simply wandering about the natural world with curiosity and reverence. Mia feels honored to walk alongside their clients as they grow, unravel, and re-root into their most authentic selves.

Healing isn’t linear. It’s growing, unraveling, and re-rooting.

Hi there — I’m Mia (they/she).
